This happened to a reddit user “Appropriate_Twist718” today while at the range. He was shooting Frontier 5.56 ammo in 55 grain (Brown Box) and had his new BCM upper completely destroyed and was lucky to not get seriously injured.
Be very careful if you have any Frontier 5.56 ammo in 55 grain. Hornady that produces this ammo has many issues during the COVID pandemic buying spree during 2020/2021. It’s not worth risking your life or others around you to shoot this ammo and should be discarded and thrown away.
